JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains efficient operation and upkeep of property, buildings, and grounds for Volunteers of America North Louisiana and all related programs.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Completes daily repair and upkeep of property.
- Completes preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in Preventative Maintenance Inspection List.
- Prepares vacant units for occupancy.
- Provides care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
- Ensures the supply, inventory, and upkeep of all personal and agency-provided tools is maintained.
- Reports unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property and/or residents.
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Maintains a clean work area, tools, and equipment.
- Responds courteously and efficiently at all times.
- Maintains awareness of and operates within OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
- Seeks educational and self-improvement opportunities for personal growth and development as needed.
- Is available to work on-call if needed.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years related experience preferred.
- Related certifications preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Automobile liability insurance that meets minimum requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels and backgrounds.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive situations.
- Ability to travel and/or work in the community daily, as required by position and supervisor.
