
Pension Administrator
Job Description
Reporting to the Pension Manager, the Pension Administrator’s primary responsibility is to process plan member pension benefits and maintain records for several Multi-Employer Pension Plans, including: providing support to members, accurately administering pension plan provisions and, responding to internal enquiries regarding pension administration.
The Pension Administrator will:
Assist members with pension and termination applications with a customer focused approach
Process member applications and option forms in a timely and organized manner
Maintain the member database and ensuring it is up to date and accurate
Accurately apply pension plan provisions and related regulations to member pension benefits
Post and allocate monthly pension payments to CRA and ensuring that all payments are balanced and reconciled
Assist the Pension Manager with any plan adjustments
Contact retired/active/inactive union members regarding their pension benefits
Provide support in annual Pension audits, year-end balancing, and T4A summaries
Provide team support across all areas of the company including but not limited to the Pension Department
Respond to member data clarification questions and other internal enquiries and team support to other departments as needed
To be successful as a Pension Administrator, you will need:
Minimum 1 year experience in a pension administrative role
University/College education in a related field; educational background in finance and/or mathematics is a strong asset
Excellent skills in mathematics
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
Sound accuracy & attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Strong adaptability skills and can effectively respond to changing business needs
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
The ability to multi-task

The base salary for this position is between $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
