Job Summary / Objective
The Machinist Apprentice I supports the CNC machining team by assisting with setup, material handling, basic machining tasks, and part inspections while learning the technical skills required to become a CNC Operator. This is a hands-on developmental role intended to grow into a fully capable CNC Machinist over time.
Essential Job Functions and Duties

Prepare material and parts to support machinists.

Operate and assist with water jet and saw equipment for cutting and preparing raw materials.

Manual drilling and tapping of parts.

Utilize calipers and gauges to ensure quality parts.

Wash, record, and put away parts.

Cleans machines and work areas.

Help load and unload machines.

Willing to take on challenges with a "can-do" attitude.

High level of initiative, strong sense of responsibility, ownership, follow-through, and autonomy.

Desire to work collaboratively as a team player as needed to complete projects.

Assist in machining adjustments and operational improvements.

Ability to learn to maintain and perform preventive maintenance on machines and related systems

Knowledge of use of various hand tools, such as but not limited to hand tools, electric drills, drill press, grinders, files, Calipers, Micrometers and other measuring instruments.

Maintains a clean, organized and safe workspace.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience

High School education or equivalent
-
Minimum 1 Year experience as Forklift Operator (Must go through Roswell Training Forklift Certification)

Minimum 1 - 2 Years experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing facility
Additional Eligibility Requirements

Post offer background check and drug screening may be required

Occasional overtime may be required at times on other shifts or weekends depending on manufacturing needs
Physical Requirements

Regularly stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
-
Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
-
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
-
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Safety Glasses must be worn in certain areas
-
Safety shoes must be worn in the machine shop and manufacturing areas
