Job Title: Sr. Engineer / Asst Mgr : Welding Coordinator
Location: Jaipur CoE Plant
Experience: 4~7 Years

Objective of the Role
The primary objective of the role is Welding Coordinator accountable for ensuring that all welding-related activities are planned, executed, monitored, and documented in accordance with
ISO 3834-2 (Comprehensive quality requirements for fusion welding) and applicable standards, codes, and customer requirements.
The role ensures:
Welding quality and compliance
Qualification of procedures and personnel
Control of welding processes across production
The Welding Coordinator acts as the technical authority for welding within the organization and ensures that welding operations consistently meet defined quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility / KRA
Production & Delivery Performance
A. Ensure achievement of Fabrication shop daily and monthly production targets with adherence of Safe & Productive working practices in Plant.
B. Ensure Continual improvement initiatives for Safety, Productivity and Quality by self and team members to achieve manufacturing excellence.
Welding Quality Management
A. Ensure compliance with ISO 3834-2 requirements
Establish and maintain welding quality system
Act as key contact during audits and certifications
B. Welding Procedure Control
Define and approve WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications)
Ensure PQR (Procedure Qualification Records) are valid
Select appropriate welding methods and parameters
C. Personnel Qualification
Ensure welders are qualified according to relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9606)
Maintain qualification records and validity
Define training and competence requirements
Planning & Control
Production Planning & Control
A. Review technical requirements before production
Define welding sequences, methods, and controls
Ensure correct use of:
Materials
Consumables
Equipment
B. Equipment & Maintenance
Ensure welding equipment suitability and calibration
Approve selection of welding machines and accessories
Monitor maintenance and condition of equipment
C. Materials & Traceability
Ensure correct material identification and traceability
Control storage and handling of consumables (e.g., electrodes, wires)
Prevent use of non-conforming materials
D. Inspection & Testing
Define inspection and test plans (ITP)
Coordinate:
Visual inspection (VT)
NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT)
Ensure acceptance criteria are applied
E. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
Manage welding-related deviations and defects
Define repair procedures
Implement corrective and preventive actions
F. Documentation & Records
Maintain welding documentation:
WPS/PQR
Welder qualifications
Inspection reports
Ensure traceability and audit readiness
G. Subcontractor Control (if applicable)
Evaluate and approve welding subcontractors
Ensure subcontractors meet ISO 3834 requirements
Monitor performance and compliance
4. Responsibility Levels (ISO 14731 concept)
ISO distinguishes responsibilities:
Comprehensive level → ISO 3834-2 (this case)
Standard level
Basic level
In ISO 3834-2, the RWC has full technical authority and accountability
Competencies (which are required for performing the above tasks)
4 ~ 7 years of experience in welding production
Proven knowledge of:
WPS/PQR qualification
NDT methods
Welding equipment and automation
Experience with audits (ISO, customer, third-party)
Special Working Conditions: -
Normet VKI plant
Working Hrs.: 48 Hrs. (6 day / week)
Main interactions of the role: -
Acts as the core technical and quality bridge, ensuring shop floor production, Design teams, QA/QC inspectors,
Education Qualification: -
IWE (International Welding Engineer) – preferred for complex/critical production
