Private Duty Caregiver
PRN/Weekends ONLY
The Private Duty Caregiver provides personal care and related services in the home. He/she functions under the direction, instruction and PAS Supervisor.
- Assisting clients to achieve maximum self-reliance.
- Recognizing emergencies and appropriate response in an emergency.
- Nutrition, fluid intake and meal preparation.
- Bathing and personal care techniques.
- Maintenance of skin integrity.
- Infection control.
- Transfers, ambulation, positioning and passive exercise.
- Assists with toileting of residents/patients.
- Procedures for maintaining a clean, safe and healthful environment.
- Reporting changes in client’s condition to appropriate supervisor.
- Emergency measures procedures.
- Provides assistance with self-administered medications.
- Documentation on appropriate records.
- Attends in-service as required by state and federal regulations.
- Client's rights including ethics and confidentiality of care.
Educational Requirements and Experience:
- High School Diploma preferred or the equivalent required.
- Preferably at least one (1) year experience as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home or home health agency.
- Reliable transportation required for an extensive geographic area. Ability to provide valid and current auto liability insurance if applicable.
