Job Description
The role has been created in order to enable first year students to take part in pre-season training as part of one of Team Durham’s performance teams in a safe and inclusive environment.
The post holder would be required to: act as first responders / single point of contact for a Durham University performance team between the hours of 5pm to 9am each day.
· To maintain reasonable standards of behaviour whilst the team are within their allocated accommodation, ensuring that this behaviour is at all times inclusive and respectful of all individuals.
· Carry out a role call as teams return from training, again in the evening and in the morning prior to departing for training and competition.
· To liaise with Porters and Duty Officers within the allocated accommodation in the first instance should an incident arise.
· To liaise with the on-call member of Team Durham staff the following morning should an incident arise.
· The post holder will be required to live in the same accommodation as their allocated team
· To attend online and face to face training / induction prior to undertaking the role.
· Each Sports Warden will be required to read and sign the Team Durham Code of Conduct prior to undertaking the role.
Person Specification - External
Personal specification:
· Should ideally hold a position of responsibility within the club
· Should ideally be a third year student
· Should have shown maturity and leadership within the club
· Does not have to be a member of the performance programme
· Should display the ability to communicate with large groups of people
· Should have an understanding of Team Durham sport and in particular performance sport outside of their own sport
