Candidate Requirement: We are seeking to recruit mentors for our Space to Explore Potential (STEP) summer residential, which is for Year 12 Black heritage students as they are particularly underrepresented in Durham. Many students invited to take part on Asian Access will intersect with other underrepresented backgrounds at Durham, such as being from low participation neighbourhoods or being socio-economically disadvantaged. We particularly welcome and encourage applications from members of groups who are under-represented in the University, including students who are of Black heritage and students studying a degree course for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Hours: Our STEP Summer School will be running from Monday 3 - Friday 7 August 2026 with on campus mentor training taking place on Sunday 2 August 2026. Event hours are from 7am until 12am, mentors will be required to cover the entire duration, a break rota will be in place.
Availability during the week of residential delivery is essential.
The residential week includes accommodation at a Durham University College and all meals provided throughout this week.
