Hospital Authority (HA)’s preparation work for the anticipated peak of surge in service demand during the influenza season is underway. To facilitate our better preparation with doctors to help in part-time basis in HA, we welcome your early indication of interest for providing service in HA through submission of e-application to this post.

 

Should there be any suitable locum job available, the Human Resources Departments will contact you for job arrangement in due course, subject to the service need of the HA.

 

Pay

The pay rates are on hourly basis.

 

(A) Locum Non-specialist Doctors

Rate 1: HK$527 (for less than 3 years’ post-registration experience)
Rate 2: HK$685 (for more than 3 years’ post-registration experience)

 

(B) Locum Specialist Doctors

Rate 1: HKS710 (for less than 3 years’ post-specialist experience)

Rate 2: HK$762 (for more than 3 years’ post-specialist experience)

 

The monthly salary will be the sum of the actual number of hours worked in the HA in the above job times the hourly rates concerned.

Job
Specialist Doctors
Provide clinical specialist services to patients in HA hospitals and institutions, and/or mentorship advice to fellow doctors in the department on a part-time basis.

Non-Specialist Doctors
Provide clinical services to patients in HA hospitals and institutions on a part-time basis.

1. A qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance.

2. Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in the relevant specialty (applicable to specialist positions).

3. Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong (applicable to specialist doctor only).

4. Ability to effectively communicate with predominantly Cantonese-speaking local patients.

 

Remarks

1. Applicants who prefer to work for less than 18 hours per week are also welcome. The renewal / extension of appointment will be subject to service needs and job performance.

2. Details of work hours and work schedule are subject to the final confirmation by Head of Department, Unit or Section and to be mutually agreed.

3. Successful candidates will need to work with HA’s electronic medical records system. Basic computer skill is required and appropriate induction will be provided. Ability to adapt to the system will be assessed after one month of service.
