Job Description
Technical Sales Specialist – Food Ingredients Location: New Cairo, Egypt Reporting To: Business Unit Manager – Food Ingredients Job Purpose To drive sales growth and market development of IMCD’s food ingredient portfolio in Egypt by providing technical expertise, developing strong customer relationships, and delivering value-added solutions to food manufacturers. Key Responsibilities Sales Business Development Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve revenue and margin targets. Identify new business opportunities and expand existing customer accounts. Promote and sell IMCD’s food ingredient portfolio to food and beverage manufacturers. Conduct regular customer visits to understand needs and propose tailored solutions. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company guidelines. Technical Support Solution Selling Provide technical consultation on food ingredients and their applications (e.g., dairy, bakery, confectionery, beverages, savory, etc.). Collaborate with customers’ R D teams to develop formulations and optimize product performance. Conduct product presentations, technical seminars, and application trials. Work closely with suppliers to ensure proper technical positioning of products. Market Intelligence Portfolio Management Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer developments. Provide feedback to management and suppliers regarding market needs and opportunities. Support new product launches and supplier integration into the local market. Internal Collaboration Coordinate with supply chain, regulatory, and finance teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records in CRM system (pipeline, opportunities, visit reports). Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in food science. 3–5 years of experience in technical sales within the food ingredients industry. Strong technical knowledge of food formulations and ingredient functionalities. Proven track record in B2B sales and account management. Strong negotiation and presentation skills are important. Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic. Ability to travel within Egypt as overseas when required .
