Job Description

Your mission

The Case Management Specialist oversees the organisation’s safeguarding and integrity investigation function, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and ethical investigation processes.  
The role strengthens investigation systems, builds organisational capacity, and provides insight to governance and leadership to support accountability and risk management. 

What you will do:
The Case Management, Response and Investigations function is part of the War Child Alliance Integrity & Safeguarding team and is dedicated to developing and implementing comprehensive case management policies and procedures for safeguarding, integrity and SEAH investigations.  
 
The post holder will develop internal investigations capacity including a War Child investigator pool and external investigators directory.  
  • Lead safeguarding and integrity investigations processes and standards 
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality investigation practice aligned with global standards 
  • Oversee investigation capacity, including internal and external investigator pools 
  • Strengthen policies, procedures, tools, and systems for investigations 
  • Provide governance reporting and insight on risks, trends, and case data 
  • Support organisational learning through investigation findings and analysis 
  • Ensure alignment with donor, legal, and regulatory requirements 
  • Promote ethical, survivor-centred investigation approaches
  • Develop, maintain and manage War Childs investigation support resources, including internal and external investigator pools
 
ROLE-SPECIFIC OR CONTEXT RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • This role is expected to betravel/mobile across War Child countries; expected duration can vary depending on needs of the country.
  • This position does not include AFAC (Anti Fraud& Corruption) responsibilities.
  • Uphold confidentiality, impartiality and fairness at all times.
  • Manage the War Child Case Management System and ensure it remains fit for purpose

Your profile

Education 
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in human resources ,law, psychology, safeguarding, ethics, or a related field is desirable.
  • Appropriate certification in investigations e.g. CHS
Experience 
  • Extensive experience conducting safeguarding, protection, or misconduct, investigations within INGOs, government, humanitarian, or similar sectors.
  • Proven ability to establish and embed, survivor centred, trauma-informed investigation processes 
  • Previous experience of working with digital CMS platforms
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in training internal staff and partner staff
Languages 
  • Fluency in English is required for this role. 
  • Additional languages may be useful depending on stakeholder groups and organisational context, for example Arabic, Dari, French, Spanish, or Ukrainian
(Technical) Knowledge 
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding issues including sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, child protection, and power-related misconduct.
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of and commitment to data protection and confidentiality
  • High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work well independently but also coordinate partnership workloads of staff not under your direct line management
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to critically evaluate written material such as reports and policies
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet regular deadlines.

What we offer

  • Location : We work with global teams with team members being based in different locations. War Child is currently operates in: Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Colombia, DR Congo, Germany, Jordan, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory, South Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine (soon to be registered), and Yemen. We also have offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants who reside and have valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
  • Type of Contract : Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in-country salary scale, local T&C's will apply.
