Job Highlights
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Observe all Company Safety Rules and Policies.
- Maintain paperwork as necessary; work orders, inspections, P.M. sheets, etc
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools;
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains technical and safety knowledge by attending employer supplied educational workshops; monthly safety topics and participating in daily Tool Box discussions.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Lay out and complete assigned work independently.
- Supervise other mechanics in the absence of supervisor
- Weld carbon steel, stainless and aluminum pipe, on bench and in field.
- Enter Confined Space and perform necessary repairs including use of welding skills.
- Use Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting.
- Use and climb ladders (approx. 40 foot high).
- Wear company supplied respirator per required tasks.
Experience and Skills
- Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum
- Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing experience.
- Experience mentoring/leading other maintenance mechanics is a plus.
