Reading Interventionist - Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA)
Sandburg Middle School
189-day calendar
Salary and benefits based on the 2024-2025 Teacher Contract
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-plan and co-teach with grade level teachers, EL teachers, and special education teachers to provide high-quality standards based instruction to students in grades K-5
- Establish and monitor a continuum of evidence based academic interventions and supports
- Work with school staff to regularly examine and progress monitor data to make instructional decisions
- Work with school staff to ensure implementation fidelity of Tier I, Tier II and Tier III interventions/supports and ensure high quality progress monitoring for students receiving these supports
- Communicate with families to support student success and facilitate a school/home partnership
- Communicate with, support, and train non-licensed tutors in evidence based interventions and assessment tools
- Support school-wide culture of literacy
- Facilitate and participate in Problem Solving meetings
- Participate in building-wide committees
- Supervise students as needed
- May also teach reading classes
- Other duties as assigned by building principal
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current MN Reading teaching license required.
- Bachelor's degree in education (Master's degree preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships and connecting with teachers from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school leaders, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Robbinsdale Area Schools and a passion for supporting student success.
- Experience in a TOSA or Coordinator role preferred.
