Social Worker, Summer Program (Pending Grant Approval)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Title I Coordinator, the summer program Social Worker assists children in resolving developmental, educational, psycho-social and mental health problems through diagnosis, counseling, and consultation. To provide referrals to appropriate outside agencies and/or in-district services. To work closely with students, parents, teachers, the child study team, other necessary staff members and community agencies to facilitate the student's maximum functioning in the educational process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Working knowledge of the Federal Standards, Milford School District programs, low-income and diverse populations.
2. Knowledge of the principles and methods of social work and their application in providing preventive and rehabilitative services.
3. Ability to carry out the goals and objectives of the program.
4. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with administration, community agencies, staff and parents.
5. Effective supervisory and team leadership skills.
6. Excellent written and oral communication and computer skills, good human relations skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Master's Degree with a major in Social Work and/or School (Guidance) Counseling.
2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Certified by the NH State Department of Education as School Social Worker (0049).

SCHEDULE: Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; July 7, 2026 - July 23, 2026 (July 6th: Intervention training day (8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.))
