We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments Sales team at Mercer. This is a Melbourne or Sydney based role. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Technical Pursuit and Content Manager, Investments
As a Bid and Content Manager – this role is at the heart of the action: arming our sales leaders with updated top-quality content (both RFP libraries and slide libraries) which is organised in easy-to-access tools like Seismic and QorusDocs. This is a team-based environment where you will be expected to influence our win rates through maintenance of top-quality centralised materials and proactive thinking.
In this central team you will enhance your knowledge and understanding of an entire range of investment topics like private markets investing, ESG investing, capital markets, and more. You will also hone your skills around project management, design, communication of key messages in a concise way.
We will count on you to:
- Engage with internal client teams on identified opportunities to develop and curate the content required for the pursuit including ensuring content is aligned to the value propositions, client needs and bid response
- Support client/prospect teams in preparation for client meetings to ensure the appropriate content and bid response is embedded in all client interactions.
- Support bid strategy to properly position the value proposition, thought leadership, capabilities, resources, and overall credentials to positively distinguish firm from competitors.
- Consult with key stakeholders and devise key messages and win themes which illustrate the strengths and benefits the team/firm brings to bear to address the client’s needs.
- Serve as a value proposition leader and help evaluate business issues and service responses required to meet potential clients’ needs.
- Consult with key stakeholders to develop Stakeholder Map, Opportunity Plan and schedule of actions/events.
- Assist in the rewriting and customisation of proposal and meeting materials to achieve readability and consistency of message and tone.
- Responsible for the management and support of content development of the proposal and meeting collateral.
- Coordinate with Design in relaying challenges to the Bid Team including details of any changes to the team, timeline, or campaign drivers.
- Define content standards, modular response components and template rules to enable rapid, consistent tailoring.
- Establish and build relationships with local practice area and business development professionals.
What you need to have:
- 10+ years’ work experience preferably in a professional services environment and ideally in client service, sales or proposal management.
- Solid pursuit and proposal management skills and organisational skills, including ability to adapt to changing time pressures/flexibility.
- Broad-based experience in marketing and/or sales/management.
- Advanced knowledge of Marsh Investments products and services, and an understanding of the business issues of the companies targeted.
- Mastery of key elements of the pursuit process.
- Expert communication and influence skills.
- Strong boardroom gravitas (able to influence without authority)
- Expert sales, facilitation skills
- Skilled in conflict and change management
