Job Description
Objective of job:
The RDC Technical Committee is at the forefront of driving technical strategy, innovation, and engineering excellence across the organization. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Technical Committee Coordinator, who will also act as an IP Ambassador, serving as a key bridge between the IP team and engineering/business units. This role is critical in ensuring smooth TC operations, effective technical governance, strong intellectual property awareness, and high-quality innovation outputs across departments.
- Technical Committee Operation & Governance
- Organize, schedule, and coordinate Technical Committee meetings (core team, taskforces, and workshops).
- Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and invitations; record minutes and track action items to closure.
- Maintain TC documentation, records, and decision logs.
- Support technical topic prioritization and feasibility review before E2/E22 reporting.
- Technical Activities & Knowledge Enablement
- Assist in organizing technical workshops, innovation forums, and
- knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support development and maintenance of engineers’ knowledge
- platforms and technical repositories.
- Facilitate internal and external technical communication on
- advanced technology topics.
- Taskforce & Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate taskforces on specific technical or innovation topics.
- Ensure timely organization, documentation, and follow-up of
- taskforce activities.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for TC-related coordination across departments.
- IP Ambassador – Window Person
- Act as a window person between the IP team and business units to collect, deliver, and exchange IP related information effectively.
- Proactively collect IP requests, feedback, questions, and suggestions from departments, and ensure timely loop-closure with the IP team.
- Discover department-level IP activities and R&D projects, and report relevant updates to the IP team on a regular basis.
- IP Ambassador – Multiplier & IP Enablement
- Serve as a multiplier to disseminate basic IP knowledge, policies, and tools (e.g. Inventor Portal, Athena).
- Promote and support IP initiatives led by the IP team across departments.
- Support and promote IP training programs, invention awarding ceremonies, and patent-mining workshops at team level.
- Organize invention review meetings, identify and invite relevant technical or IP experts as needed.
- IP Ambassador – Source of Expertise
- Act as a technical consultant supporting IP activities such as invention disclosure (ID) evaluation, patent search, and prior-art discussions.
- Facilitate the completion of high-quality invention disclosures via the Inventor Portal.
- Support invention reviews and expert assessments in collaboration with IP and technical experts.
- Administrative & Communication Support
- Serve as a central contact point for TC and IP-related inquiries.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and executive materials.
- Support structured communication between IP, engineering, and management stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement
- Proactively identify and implement improvements in TC operations, IP collaboration processes, and knowledge management practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in technical coordination, project administration, IP support, or related roles (automotive or high-tech industry experience is a plus).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Familiarity with IP concepts, patent processes, or invention management is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Inventor Portal, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.c
