Pay | : | HK$35,795 to HK$57,842 (HGPS point 14 to 24) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff at the end of each 3 years during the 9-year contract period subject to satisfactory performance. |

Key Responsibilities: | ||
1. | Develop, evaluate, and maintain in-house and/or commercial bioinformatics pipelines and other computational workflows. | |
2. | Perform routine analysis of multi-omics data and checking of quality control metrics. | |
3. | Assist in establishing, maintaining, and upgrading in-house and/or commercial databases relevant to bioinformatics data analysis. | |
4. | Assist in the preparation of laboratory documents relevant to bioinformatics, such as evaluations reports and SOPs. | |
5. | Liaise with / communicate with pathologists, bioinformaticians, scientific officers and information technologist to meet service and operational needs. | |
6. | Assist in general laboratory duties, such as setting up and testing LIS worksheets, network maintenance and laboratory accreditation. | |
7. | Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors. | |

Entry Requirements: | ||
1. | Higher diploma in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science, Clinical Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline, or equivalent. | |
2. | Knowledge in Unix/Linux environment, or equivalent and using a programming language such as R, Python, Perl, or related languages. | |

Preferable Attributes/Exposure: | ||
1. | Experience in analyzing largescale genomic datasets and/or molecular pathology tests. | |
2. | Experience in high performance computing, database management and job queue would be an advantage. | |
3. | With knowledge in AI techniques for predictive analysis. | |
4. | Working experience in clinical laboratories would be an advantage. | |
5. | Excellent verbal and written communication skills. | |
6. | Ability to work within a team or independently and to learn things quickly. | |
7. | Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and attention to detail. | |
8. | Commitment to patient care and empathy. | |
