Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and rectify defects related to plumbing, drainage, gas pipelines, exhaust systems, and minor carpentry works, including relevant equipment.
- Monitor & manage manpower and material resources for routine repair and maintenance activities.
- Liaise and coordinate with internal departments, campus users, and external contractors on planned preventive maintenance, daily operations, replacement, improvement and upgrading works.
- Oversee outsourced contractors to ensure all works are carried out properly, safely, and in compliance with site requirements.
- Supervise & training junior staff in providing technical support for plant and equipment repair and maintenance in laboratories across the campus.
- Ensure the safe and proper management of the workshop, including housekeeping, tool availability and condition, and inventory control of frequently used materials.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
- Additional certifications are an advantage, such as Registration of Electrical Worker, Gas Installer Registration Card, Gas Welding Safety, Boilers & Pressure Vessels, and relevant certificate.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in installation and maintenance of:
- Laboratory gas pipelines, compressed air, Nitrogen, and specialty gas
- Water supply and drainage systems
- Exhaust systems
- Minor carpentry works
- Good communication skills with the ability to speak basic Mandarin and English.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
