As a Dynamics 365 Finance Support engineer, you have a strong Finance functional background and hands-on technical development experience to join our Shared Services team. This is a hybrid role — you'll bring deep Finance domain knowledge while also having the ability to investigate, develop, and resolve technical issues within the D365 F&O platform. You are energetic and passionate about Dynamics 365 F&O and how it can be used to solve complex business problems.
You have the capability to provide functional and technical support across active client environments, with a focus on Finance and related modules. You will act as the primary point of contact for Finance-related queries, configuration requests, and low-to-medium complexity technical enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day functional support for D365 F&O Finance modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Project Accounting, and Budgeting
- Analyse client issues and requests, translating them into functional specifications, configuration changes, or development requirements
- Prepare and maintain functional design documentation, test scripts, and support runbooks
- Facilitate workshops and triage sessions with clients to diagnose issues and drive decisions
- Support data migration activities, period-end close processes, and reconciliation tasks
- Conduct functional testing of modifications, patches, and configuration changes during sprint and release cycles
- Manage and prioritise support tickets, ensuring timely resolution aligned to SLA commitments
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and shared services documentation to improve team efficiency
- Should have experience in handling SIT, End user training, UAT and Go Live.
- Should have experience in data migration activities.
- Facilitate functional sessions and support status meetings with clients
- Own service deliverables (documentation, test plans) and take personal ownership of the success of deliverables and outcomes.
You must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain an Australian Government security clearance. Candidates with an existing clearance will be highly regarded.

Skills and Experience
- Have worked on numerous F&O live environments
- Should have experience in using Azure DevOps
- Develop and maintain low-to-medium complexity customisations and extensions within D365 F&O using X++ programming
- Create and manage custom data entities, workflows, and business process automation
- Support system integrations between D365 F&O and third-party systems using APIs, data connectors, and Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus)
- Perform basic database and performance investigations, identifying root causes and recommending remediation
- Excellent communication skills along with good analysis and documentation skills
- Should have a positive and can-do approach
- Experience working in a collaborative environment
- Appropriate Microsoft certifications
- Work under general guidance and direction, but fully independent in own work with latitude for autonomous decision-making related to work process
- Travel as needed. You may be required to travel based on support demands.
In addition, your professional skillset likely includes:
- Solid understanding of core finance processes — General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Budgeting
- Demonstrated experience in X++ development, custom data entities, and D365 F&O workflow configuration
- Hands on experience in using Azure DevOps would be an advantage
- Appropriate Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (e.g. MB-300, MB-310)
- Baseline security clearance
Preferred Years of Work Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in support of Dynamics 365 F&O live environments
- Experience working on large complex client sites.
