About the Position:
We are looking for a Engineer – New Projects to join the Engineer PIVA Interior team, reporting directly to the General Supervisor.
This position is based at our office in PIVA
As the Engineer at Marelli, you will be with deep expertise in injection molding tooling and automation. This role plays a key part in supporting simultaneous engineering activities, tooling development, process design, equipment sourcing, and successful launch of new manufacturing projects.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Participate in 3D Simultaneous Engineering activities, providing early feedback to product design to prevent past issues and improve part development
- Prepare and release injection mold tooling specifications
- Manage tooling quotations, technical alignment, and supplier evaluations
- Attend and support injection molding trials, providing technical feedback and defining improvement actions
- Prepare and manage engineering change specifications (ECR/ECO)
- Develop End‑of‑Arm Tooling (EOAT) specifications, prepare BOMs, and follow up on fabrication and validation
- Apply robot programming knowledge to support EOAT functionality and automation integration
- Prepare process design documentation for new products and equipment
- Define new equipment specifications and follow up through sourcing, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
- Lead equipment sourcing activities, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Follow up on fabrication progress, ensuring timeline, cost, and technical compliance
- Control and track project budgets related to tooling, automation, and equipment
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering.
- Strong experience with injection molding processes and tooling
- Proven expertise in CAD software, with advanced knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and basic knowledge of NX
- Experience with EOAT design, robotics, and automation
- Ability to prepare and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs
- Experience supporting tool trials, equipment fabrication, and commissioning
- Strong organizational, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Experience in new product or new equipment launches in automotive industry.
- Familiarity with cost control, and supplier technical negotiations
- Background in high‑volume manufacturing environments
