UCFM P4L (Sunday School) Assistant Teacher

The teacher’s assistant will support the Power 4Living teacher in carrying out the selected curriculum and overall operation of the class.

Anticipated Time Commitments:

1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Three hours a week.

2. Attend and participate in meetings/training: One hour minimum a month.

3. Prepare Lesson (3 hours minimum study time and prep time). Submit Teach Model by 9 p.m. each Saturday night to the superintendent when applicable.

4. To ensure adequate classroom coverage, when possible, please give 24 Hour notice of absence and one hour notice for being tardy.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Arrive in the United Center @ 9:25a.m. each Sunday morning for prayer and instructions from Superintendent.
  2. Complete the class record book with attendance, visitors, and offering amount. Complete the blue electronic (sign in) offering sheet regardless of offering. Verify offering amount is accurate. Have the offering envelope ready for 10:15 a.m.

3. Facilitate the lesson. Use electronic equipment when applicable. Video record class testimonies. Complete class record book and offering report each Sunday.

4. Submit your classroom reward /recognition criteria each quarter to the Superintendent for review and approval.

5. Give homework and special assignments to students. Recognize and Reward students for excellent and outstanding performance in P4L Sunday School and their educational institution. Submit to the Spirit & Pride Director in a timely manner.

6. Build Godly relationships with students and encourage fellowship and church attendance.

7. Update your students’ contact information in Church Teams when applicable. Use Church Team App to communicate with your class attendees and parents. 

8. Contact Parents/Students monthly by phone or email to encourage them in their Christian walk. Maintain a record to assist with follow-up. Designate a student to assist you when applicable.

9. Report all accidents or classroom challenges to the Department leader immediately upon incident.

10. Create a Zoom link flyer for your class in case of unforeseen events that would prevent in-person class participation.

 

Miscellaneous/Other Tasks:

To ensure adequate coverage, efficient, and effective operation in Power 4Liivng Sunday School, you may be asked and/or assigned to perform other tasks/duties in addition to teaching, including but limited to the list below.

1. Be available to participate in special events, such as Church Anniversary, Spirit & Pride Programs, etc.

2. Be flexible and open to different teaching assignments as needs within the department may occur.

3. Assist with or combine with another class when necessary. (If a class combines with another class, it should be the next upper class). Example: Young Adult class would combine with the Adult Class. The Junior class would combine with the Junior High class and so forth and so on.

4. Maintain and provide name(s) of students graduating and receiving special recognition during the year. Assist with the recognition each quarter.

5. Notify P4L Administrator of supplies needed for your classroom. Presents receipts (with reason/person received) for reimbursement before thirty days from purchase date.
