Job Summary
Assists physicians and nursing staff in the preparation, performance, and recovery phases of endoscopic procedures. Ensures proper handling, cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopic equipment while supporting safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a hospital environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to follow infection control standards and hospital policies.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in endoscopy, procedural services, or a hospital setting preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare procedure rooms with appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies for endoscopic procedures.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments and support.
• Perform high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopes and related equipment per hospital policy.
• Transport patients to and from procedure and recovery areas as needed.
• Monitor and maintain supply inventory to ensure availability at all times.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and report malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment cleaning, usage, and patient-related data.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, infection prevention protocols, and hospital policies.
• Provide compassionate support to patients before and after procedures.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and assisting with patient positioning.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies as required.
• Manual dexterity for handling delicate instruments and performing cleaning tasks.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills.
