POSITION SUMMARY

The Adjunct Faculty – Anatomy and Physiology Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in anatomy and physiology courses for students enrolled in the RN to BSN Program. The instructor facilitates student learning through effective teaching strategies that promote understanding of human body structure, function, and pathophysiological concepts as they relate to nursing and healthcare practice. Instruction may be delivered in on-campus, hybrid, or online formats in accordance with institutional standards and accreditation requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITES

  • Teach Anatomy and Physiology courses in accordance with approved curriculum, course outlines, and student learning outcomes.
  • Deliver engaging instruction through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, laboratory activities, and/or virtual learning environments.
  • Integrate anatomy and physiology concepts with nursing and healthcare applications.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, laboratory activities, and examinations.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies and technology-enhanced teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles.
  • Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, participation, laboratory assessments, and other evaluation methods.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to promote student success.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and student progress records in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery, communication, grading, and documentation.
  • Foster a professional, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum review, training, and professional development activities as assigned.
  • Uphold academic integrity and comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and related biological sciences.
  • Ability to relate scientific concepts to nursing and healthcare practice.
  • Effective teaching, classroom management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.).
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Commitment to student learning, academic excellence, and continuous improvement.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE

  • Master’s degree in Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, OR
  • Master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, or related sciences.
  • Prior postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
