Job Purpose
Join DHL Group as a Senior Legal Counsel (Employment Law) supporting our UK divisions with expert, commercially focused employment law advice. Acting as a trusted advisor to HR and senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping business decisions, managing risk, and ensuring compliance while enabling practical, business-driven outcomes across a dynamic, fast-paced organization.

Location: UK remote with occasional travelling to our DHL office in Milton Keynes required (up to 6 times per year). 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic, risk-based employment law advice to HR, leadership, and business stakeholders across a wide range of topics
  • Support employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and restructuring processes
  • Advise on TUPE matters, including due diligence and employee consultation processes
  • Manage employment disputes and oversee employment tribunal cases, including coordination with external counsel
  • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and related documentation
  • Contribute to the employment law aspects of commercial agreements, assessing legal risks and business impact
  • Deliver employment law training to HR and management, both virtually and in person
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for employment law matters
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal governance, and company standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, Procurement, and Data Protection

Your Profile

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK with a minimum of 4 years’ employment law experience (in-house or private practice)
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters independently and provide clear, pragmatic advice
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and operate autonomously
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
