Leader - Mechanical Engineering Solutions
Job Description
At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Design
· Define end-to-end mechanical system architectures aligned to customer needs, platform strategy, and applicable standards.
· Architect compact electronic devices—enclosures, frames, brackets, and internal layouts—and develop concept and detailed design approaches for structures, thermal solutions, fluid systems, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
· Lead packaging and integration strategies for high-density components (PCBs, batteries, connectors, sensors).
· Drive engineering trade-offs across size, weight, thermal performance, EMI/EMC shielding, and structural integrity.
2. Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership
· Serve as the primary technical interface for customers (OEMs/clients) to clarify requirements and propose optimal solution options.
· Translate RFQs/RFPs into competitive engineering concepts, costed proposals, and delivery plans.
· Communicate solution architectures, feasibility studies, risks, and technical roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders.
3. Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) Ownership
· Own the mechanical architecture across concept → design → simulation → validation → industrialization.
· Lead design for reliability including drop, shock, vibration, ingress protection (IP), and environmental robustness.
· Integrate CAE/CFD (thermal, structural, durability) into early decisions and iterative design reviews.
· Establish closed-loop engineering by incorporating insights from testing, field returns, and manufacturing feedback.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, electronics, and software teams to ensure end-to-end system integration.
· Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for serviceability (DFS) are built into the architecture.
· Collaborate effectively with global engineering teams, suppliers, and strategic partners.
5. Reliability & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, CE, UL, RoHS; and where applicable ROPS/FOPS).
o Ingress protection (IP) ratings
o Drop/impact standards
o Other regional and product-specific regulatory requirements
· FMEA, tolerance analysis, and reliability test planning to proactively manage risk.
We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questians are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard.
We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace.
