Job Title: Delivery Assurance & NPI Engineer
Location: Remote – Based in Turkey
Role Overview
We are recruiting for an NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction) to join an established Manufacturing business based in the US area. The NPI Engineer will create long-term relationships with customers ensuring that expectations are met and improving efficiency with strong skills in service delivery. This role will play an integral part in NPI and help successfully implement and launch new projects for a customer and their suppliers. This role will focus primarily on NPI, Capacity, Producibility, Problem solving and Lean processes for new product introductions.
The Delivery Assurance Field Representative will be responsible for ensuring that supplier-produced Aero-Engine parts are delivered on time to meet the Customers Engine build schedule and spares requirement. Candidates must have the ability to identify Bottleneck/Capacity Constraints that will be used to develop improvement and mitigation plans for improved on-time delivery from suppliers. This Hybrid position requires aspects of Supply Chain management, procurement, manufacturing and quality assurance. Candidates must be fluent in both Turkish and English, possess a driving license and have the willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supply Chain Management and Production Planning support of various OEM sites and their suppliers located throughout Europe, however primarily in Turkey.
· Act as primary liaison on NPI for the customer and their suppliers.
· Working on multiple projects simultaneously with a global projects team.
· Drive to consistently pursue solutions to accomplish goals and objectives to satisfy our Customer’s needs: requiring extraordinary determination, self-motivation and interpersonal skills.
· Communicating and working to remove barriers that prevent consistent achievement of business goals specific to the on-time delivery of parts to the Customer.
· Provide analytical leadership, a level of project management, technical and quality knowledge to all aspects of product analytics.
· Effectively driving tasks/projects to completion which includes Leading Indicator (LI) data collection: RM availability and on order, WIP tracking, Quality Notification closures, and Sub-Tier Supplier tracking.
· Conduct detailed observations, collect data on parts and processes, and analyse the data to ensure On-Time-Delivery.
· Monitor MRP tools, production schedules, work-in-progress (WIP), and non-conformances against delivery commitment dates. Revise and estimate delivery dates as needed.
· Identify bottlenecks, conduct gap analysis, create mitigation plans, and manage action items through to closure.
· Develop positive working relationships with engineers, buyers, and program management teams at both OEM and supply base levels.
· Use advanced IT skills to cleanse, structure, and analyse raw data, improving team reporting and decision-making.
· Document, summarize, and present reports to meet customer requirements.
· Gather feedback and work to identify new improvement projects in conjunction with Supplier Development Leaders
· Develop a strong understanding of the products and the operational processes they go through at your assigned Suppliers.
· Work with and assist the European NPI manager.
Work Experience
Skills (Mechanical)
· Understanding of manufacturing processes i.e. Forging/Casting/Assembly/Machining/Special Processes.
· Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawing and technical information.
· Involvement with Process Planning and Production Readiness reviews.
· Familiarity with Operating/Work Instructions and Control Plans.
· Exposure to Lean methodologies and tools.
· Knowledge of material packaging and handling.
Skills (Supply chain)
· Experience in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning/Quality/Operations.
· Familiarity with Operating/Work Instructions and Control Plans.
· History of Customer facing.
· Experience in using SAP or similar ERP system.
· Shipping and distribution.
Skills (Production/Procurement)
· Knowledge of part qualification requirements (including PPAP/FAI/RCCA processes).
· Understanding of in Production processes i.e. Machining/Assembly/CMM/Special Processes/5S/BOM.
· Experience in a using SAP or similar ERP system.
· Planning / Raw material / Inventory / tool/ buffer stocks / Purchasing /procurement.
Experience desired:
· Knowledge of the aerospace sector in Turkey.
· Experience of structured problem-solving methodology: Lean/ACE, lead change/improvement activity/DMAIC/6 Sigma etc.
· Formal auditing qualification.
· Ability to read/interpret drawings including understanding of GD&T and critical characteristics (KPCs).
· Experience in using SAP or similar ERP system.
