Reports to: Senior Manager, Clinical Informatics
Purpose
The Clinical Informatics Analyst supports the translation of clinical workflows and business needs into structured technology requirements within the Clinical Informatics track. This role applies clinical knowledge and analytical skills to document requirements, analyze current-state processes, and contribute to system design and integration work alongside Sr. Clinical Informatics Analysts and Informatics Pharmacists.
Responsibilities
Clinical Analysis & Requirements
- Documents clinical workflows and operational processes, capturing current-state conditions and translating business needs into technology requirements under the direction of senior team members.
- Writes user stories and acceptance criteria for clinical system workstreams, following Clinical Informatics track standards and the requirements methodology.
- Supports workflow gap analysis and future-state design by contributing clinical knowledge and process documentation to analysis activities.
System & Integration Support
- Assists with system configuration analysis, integration documentation, and data flow mapping for clinical systems, applying foundational knowledge of pharmacy operations and clinical data standards.
- Supports the documentation of interoperability requirements, capturing clinical system integration needs in collaboration with senior team members and IT delivery partners.
- Participates in technical design reviews and delivery planning ceremonies, contributing clinical perspective and requirements support.
Documentation & Quality
- Produces requirements documentation, workflow diagrams, and business process models to Clinical Informatics track standards.
- Maintains and updates clinical system documentation as systems evolve, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records across assigned workstreams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Works alongside Business Analysts and Product Owners to support the development of complete, testable requirements for clinical workstreams.
- Coordinates with QA to support requirements clarification and acceptance criteria review on assigned workstreams.
- Participates in team working sessions, delivery ceremonies, and stakeholder meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in clinical informatics, pharmacy operations, clinical data analysis, or a closely related field.
- Foundational clinical domain knowledge: familiarity with pharmacy workflows, clinical systems, or healthcare operations sufficient to contribute meaningfully to requirements and workflow analysis activities.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, structured written documentation for both clinical and technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple workstreams and documentation tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative working style; receptive to direction, feedback, and mentorship in a practice-building environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specialty pharmacy, rare disease, or high-complexity clinical environments.
- Basic familiarity with clinical data standards (NCPDP, HL7) or pharmacy management systems.
- Exposure to agile delivery practices, user story writing, or requirements documentation in a technology delivery context.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Health Informatics, Nursing, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
