The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and protection of members, guests, employees, and property assets at Houston Oaks. This leadership role involves overseeing all security operations, including employee management, emergency response planning, and the implementation of property-wide safety protocols. The ideal candidate balances a commanding presence with the high-level hospitality expected in a private club environment, all aimed at fostering connections and ensuring our team thrives together in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver service with care and attention, always prioritizing quality and the well-being of the Members.
- Interact with members, guests, vendors and employees in a professional and courteous manner, providing assistance as needed.
- Lead, train, and schedule the security team to ensure 24/7 coverage of the property.
- Manage and conduct routine patrols of all club facilities, residences, and grounds to deter unauthorized access and identify potential safety hazards.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of systems, electronic access controls, and alarm monitoring.
- Respond promptly to incidents, such as alarms, suspicious activity, or emergencies, and take appropriate action.
- Act as the primary lead for all emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, or weather-related incidents.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security personnel and general staff safety.
- Enforce operational notices regarding property maintenance, such as ensuring service vehicles adhere to designated paths and remain off the grass.
- Conduct thorough investigations into any incidents, accidents, and provide detailed written reports to executive leadership.
- Ensure all security interactions with members and guests are professional, discreet, and reflective of the club's luxury standards.
- Coordinate specialized security plans for high-profile club events, weddings, and private gatherings.
- Manage gate access and internal traffic flow to ensure a seamless experience for members while maintaining strict entry requirements.
- Any other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and AED protocols.
- 3+ years of experience in security management, preferably within a luxury resort, private club, or high-end residential community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.
- Ability to identify vulnerabilities in physical property and digital access systems.
- A genuine desire to work as part of a team and contribute positively to our workplace culture.

- Strong verbal and written skills; ability to communicate clearly during high-stress incidents.
- Understanding of local and state laws regarding private property and security enforcement.
- Experience with digital communication platforms (e.g., Beekeeper) and modern surveillance software.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.) common to the Houston area.
- You may experience variable noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods and navigate various terrains across the property.
- Standing, stooping, bending and twisting for most of the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in emergency or operational situations.
