Talent Aquisition Specialist, Transitional Housing

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist drives recruitment for a portfolio of Transitional Housing programs. This role shepherds candidates through a structured hiring process— sourcing diverse talent, coordinating interviews, and ensuring a seamless process from first outreach to offer acceptance. 

 

Managing a pipeline of 50+ active requisitions, the Talent Acquisition Specialist partners with hiring managers to align on needs, maintain clear timelines, and uphold a high-touch candidate experience. Strong organizational skills are a must to ensure both candidate and hiring manager are informed throughout each hiring process. 

 

The ideal candidate has recruited in social services before and knows how to balance high volume with high touch. Goal-driven and a critical thinker, they apply sound judgment to nuanced processes and draw energy from placing candidates in roles that truly transform people’s recovery journeys. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment for 50+ open requisitions direct support roles such as Residence Workers, Case Managers, Shift Supervisors, Housing Specialists and Social Workers 
  • Provide exceptional hiring manager support by building strong partnerships and aligning on site-specific needs  
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, social media, alumni networks, and employee referrals  
  • Review and screen applications within the iCIMS applicant tracking system to assess experience, credentials, and that they meet minimum qualifications 
  • Conduct phone interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications, motivations, and readiness for client-facing roles  
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers across multiple residential and housing sites, ensuring clear logistics and timely follow-up  
  • Stay informed of operational changes and staffing needs at each site through regular check-ins with hiring managers  
  • Expertly and consistently adhere to established iCIMS processes and workflows to maintain compliance, data integrity and streamlined recruiting operations 
  • Track candidate progress through the recruitment pipeline, updating status and notes in iCIMS to ensure transparency  
  • Proactively identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, driving each requisition forward until offer acceptance  
  • Exercise critical thinking and sound judgment to navigate nuanced hiring situations and develop effective solutions 

Qualifications

 

  • At least three years of end-to-end recruiting experience, with a strong preference for social services recruiting 
  • Demonstrated capacity to juggle a portfolio of 50+ active requisitions simultaneously  
  • Proficiency with iCIMS or a comparable applicant tracking system for candidate screening, pipeline management, and reporting, candidates with experience in iCIMS strongly preferred
  • Expertise in diverse sourcing strategies, including job boards, social networks, professional associations, and employee referrals  
  • Strong collaborative skills to cultivate trust and alignment with hiring managers across multiple locations  
  • Meticulous organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure process adherence and accurate data capture  
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, able to anticipate obstacles and propel recruitment forward  
  • Adept at conducting structured phone screens to evaluate candidate fit for client-facing positions  
  • Analytical thinker with sound judgment to unravel complex hiring scenarios and devise practical solutions  
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to monitor key recruiting metrics and refine strategies for continual improvement 
  • Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in standard office applications and a quick aptitude for mastering new software and platforms 
  • Willingness to travel to Samaritan sites around NYC occasionally 

 

Additional Information 

This is a full-time exempt role with an annual salary of $66,300-$72,000 with a full benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 days of paid time off, access to a retirement account with an employer to match, and tuition reimbursement. The compensation offered for this role is dependent on experience and credentials. 

This role is located in Queens, NY, and requires three regularly scheduled days in office per week, including Tuesdays.
