Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Job Description

  • Collect, analyze, and document manufacturing, test, and quality data for review by engineering and management teams.
  • Support continuous improvement activities by assisting with data gathering, observations, and implementation of defined Lean initiatives.
  • Perform hands‑on troubleshooting, debug, diagnosis, and repair of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, and electro‑mechanical systems in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with investigation of electrical, functional, and intermittent PCB‑related issues and support root cause and corrective action efforts under direction.
  • Communicate production, test, and quality issues to engineering teams and assist with documentation of findings.
  • Draft, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and related manufacturing documentation based on requirements.
  • Support the implementation, verification, and documentation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and approved process changes.
  • Assist with customer complaints, RMAs, corrective and preventive actions and related investigations as directed.
  • Support evaluations of existing processes, layouts, tooling, and test methods used in manufacturing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with identification and setup of tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and inspection methods used in manufacturing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collect and maintain defined metrics for yield, throughput, process control, and product performance.
  • Support production scheduling discussions by providing status updates and clarifying assigned priorities.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Planning to support material, routing, or process updates as directed.
  • Support design reviews, process reviews, and production readiness activities by preparing data, documentation, and test results.
  • Train and support operations staff by following established training materials and work instructions.
  • Communicate technical information, issues, and status updates to engineering, manufacturing, and management teams.
  • Provide regular status updates, risks, and performance metrics to management.
  • Escalate complex technical issues, non-standard conditions, or process deviations to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of operations and continuous improvement efforts.
