Job Description
Qualifications and experience.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related scientific discipline
- Have a minimum of five (5) years' professional experience in underground mining geology
- Have proven experience in supervising geological teams in a mining environment
- Possess a good knowledge of underground mining operations and grade control activities
- Experience in copper and cobalt mining operations is a strong asset
- Experience in the analysis and interpretation of geological and production data
- Be able to operate in a demanding and pressurized underground environment
Technical skills
- Master underground geological mapping and content control techniques
- Have a good knowledge of the processes of dilution, ore losses and geological reconciliation
- Proficiency in geological software such as Datamine, Leapfrog or similar software
- Have a good command of Microsoft Excel and data management tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret geological and operational data
- Have good technical and operational report writing skills
- Possess a good understanding of the HSE standards applicable to underground mining operations
- Be able to identify operational deviations and propose appropriate corrective solutions
