Superintendent - UG Geotechnical Engineering
Job Description
Qualifications and experience.
- University degree in geotechnics, geology, mining engineering or civil engineering from a recognized institution
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally in underground hard rock mines (copper, cobalt or similar)
- International experience strongly desired
- Proven experience in managing and developing technical teams
- Strong experience in operational support and applied geotechnical engineering in an underground mining environment
- Medical fitness to work in an underground environment
- Valid driver's license
Technical skills
- Master the principles and practices of geotechnical engineering in underground mines
- Analyze and interpret complex geotechnical data
- Design and optimize support systems and underground infrastructure
Apply best practices in Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP)
- Use geotechnical monitoring tools and technologies (seismic, deformation, etc.)
- Integrating geotechnical considerations into mine planning
Translating technical concepts into practical operational solutions
- Manage technical projects and coordinate multidisciplinary studies
