Your Impact
As a Project Geologist – Greenfields & Exploration Opportunities, you will be key contributor in a team driving Newmont’s next generation of discoveries. You will contribute to the identification, evaluation, and advancement of new exploration opportunities—integrating high-quality fieldwork, desktop studies, and the collection and analysis of geoscientific data and economic datasets. Your work will contribute to strategic exploration investment decisions, enabling safe, efficient, and future-focused exploration that delivers long-term value to the business.
As part of our team, you will
- Support and implement desktop and field evaluations of third party and internal exploration projects
- Collect, validate, and manage exploration data, including drilling, mapping, geochemical, spectral and geophysical survey information.
- Support drill programs with logging, sampling, and contractor coordination.
- Synthesize and interpret geological data to provide recommendations and contribute to short‑ and long‑term exploration plans.
- Collaborate with a team of Geoscientific SME’s to apply cutting edge techniques to our exploration programs.
- Prepare maps, presentations, and reports to share findings and progress to leadership.
- Apply Newmont safety standards, SOPs and QA/QC processes in all activities.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline.
- Early career experience or strong foundational knowledge in mineral exploration.
- Ability to work effectively with a team in field and office environments.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and safety practices.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and work collaboratively.
Your work environment
- A combination of field‑based and office‑based work.
- This role is located at our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado. However, we will also accept applicants in the greater Vancouver area
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont spanning multiple time zones.

- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $95,600- 127,500. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
