About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who We’re Looking For

 

Reporting to the Director, Environment, the Specialist – Farm Management will be responsible for the strategic management of Cadia’s owned properties, including residential dwellings and agisted farmland. This role will act as the site lead for the Contango portfolio of Cadia-owned properties, ensuring alignment with the Cadia Farms Strategy.

 

You will develop, implement and continuously improve targeted management strategies that align with environmental and social performance outcomes. Through effective collaboration with operational leaders and community consultation, you will deliver beneficial outcomes and improvement initiatives across Cadia properties.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensure all activities align with Cadia’s Safety, Environmental and Social Performance Management Systems.
  • Develop and implement programs to manage environmental and social risks and address stakeholder concerns related to direct and indirect impacts.
  • Provide overarching management of the Cadia Farmland Strategy, ensuring KPIs are met and driving continuous improvement in land and farming practices.
  • Prepare work plans, procedures, presentations and performance reports in line with the Cadia Farmland Stragety.
  • Deliver assigned environmental and community projects within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Manage community and stakeholder communications to support engagement initiatives relating to farmland and environmental programs.
  • Develop, manage and deliver budgets for Contango properties.

 

About You

 

You will bring a strong rural or farming background, with demonstrated experience in farm and asset management, as well as community consultation on environmental matters. Your highly developed communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work respectfully and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Proven experience in farm management, including land, livestock and agistee management
  • Experience developing and managing strategies, plans and budgets
  • Current open manual driver’s licence

 

Highly Regarded

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in agricultural science, environmental science or a related discipline
  • Experience using SAP or accounting software
  • Experience in community consultation and delivering community based environmental or agriculture programs

 

 

This role is offered on a Monday to Friday or 9‑day fortnight work arrangement. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia at the time of application. Candidates based locally or with the ability to work at the site location are encouraged to apply.
