Job Description

This position leads the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies for the Office of Career Professional Development, overseeing social media, digital content, and outreach efforts to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers to increase engagement and awareness. The incumbent develops and implements the career development programming strategy for students in their respective career cluster and cultivates and manages employer relationships and external partnerships. Works in conjunction with career cluster faculty to embed occupational well-being and career readiness across the curriculum. The position supervises the digital marketing/social media intern. The position provides career coaching to students and alumni. This position develops and implements classroom presentations. Provides career coaching and advising to assist students and alumni in developing and implementing career decisions and plans. Utilizes career management tools to assist students and alumni with exploring career options and developing and implementing job search strategies. Reviews and provides feedback on students’ and graduates’ resumes, cover letters and graduate school essays. Initiate and implement social media, marketing and branding strategy for Career Professional Development. Manage the Career Development website and social media platforms to engage students, alumni, employers, faculty and staff. Manage e-mail communications to students, alumni and employers. Utilize career management system for observation notes and on campus recruiting. Participates in strategic planning and contributes input to develop and achieve strategic objectives. In alignment with overall OCPD goals, develops brand strategy, messaging and marketing tools. Actively conducts employer outreach on a weekly basis. Builds and maintains a network industry professionals. Conducts research and establishes employer relationships in target markets. Represents Belmont University in external affairs and events. Hire, train and supervise Digital Marketing/Social Media Intern. Contributes to the career development programming strategy for all students. Evaluates career development resources, workshops, classroom presentations, recruiting events and other programming, to ensure that all offerings remain effective, scalable and relevant. Works to embed occupational well-being and career readiness across the curriculum. Serve as liaison to Student Formation and Student Employment to actively engage student employees and leaders in career readiness and planning. Collaborates with other internal teams. Represents Belmont University in external affairs and events involving alumni and employers. Facilitates connections between students, alumni and employers. Collaborates with academic administrators, faculty, and other relevant university colleagues to enhance student success. Attends faculty meetings and represents Belmont in university wide initiatives representing the career development team.
