Job Description

The Anatomy Lab Manager oversees all operations of the anatomy lab, including donor procurement coordination, compliance with health and safety standards, and lab scheduling. This position is also responsible for developing and managing contracts for external groups utilizing the lab facilities. Additionally, the Anatomy Lab Manager supports departmental continuing education initiatives and assists with maintenance and operations of the physical therapy lab. Primary position responsibilities: Must be able to lift human bodies with assistance, move anatomy lab tables and tolerate chemicals used to fix the bodies. Procuring cadavers, unpacking, storage, maintenance of bodies and preparing them for return transport Maintaining all equipment and supplies in the anatomy lab, including all health and safety requirements. (OHSA, DOT, EPA, air quality, and hazardous waste) Orient anyone using the lab, train and supervise all student workers for the lab Negotiate contracts with outside groups that want to use the lab for continuing education. Coordinate all logistical support for any use of the lab. Maintain the lab calendar for any one using the lab, coordinating with all internal and external parties using the lab. Assist with set up maintenance and trouble shooting of other lab equipment. Arrange for appropriate calibration of all electrical equipment. Mange all maintenance contracts for lab equipment. Inventory and assist with ordering consumable supplies for the anatomy lab and other physical therapy labs. The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
