Primary purpose of the role Responsible for the design and communication of solution vision through the design, development and execution of integrated architecture that aligns to the Enterprise Architecture plan and meets the current and future needs of the business. The role provides comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, polices, standards and practices (including security) and those existing and planned solution components remain compatible. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Review, interpret and translate business requirements, user stories and BRS into fit ‑ for ‑ purpose solution designs that align with customer expectations, digital strategy and enterprise architecture. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and technical specialists to define end ‑ to ‑ end solutions encompassing technology, data, integration, process and operating model impacts. Align solutions with Revenue's digital strategy and target state architectures. Provide technical solutions across domains like cloud, integration, data, security, and other digital platforms Define and design technology solutions that enable the business to meet strategic and operational objectives, considering both current and future digital capabilities. Provide input into the strategic direction of technology investments, contributing to enterprise architecture roadmaps and maximising return on investment. Ensure solution designs comply with enterprise standards, security, privacy, accessibility and regulatory requirements. Support project delivery from inception through business case development, detailed design, delivery and operational handover, ensuring solutions are implemented as designed and within agreed timeframes. Produce and maintain solution design artefacts, including high ‑ level and detailed designs, options analysis and design decisions. Participate in governance and assurance activities, including architecture and design reviews, to support informed decision ‑ making. Support operational readiness, transition to BAU, and continuous improvement of systems and services. Key Challenges Identifying and managing complex system, infrastructure and project interdependencies while balancing competing priorities to ensure delivery milestones are met without compromising service continuity or architectural integrity. Assessing emerging and evolving technologies to determine their relevance and potential impacts, including risks and opportunities, on business enablement, cost, performance, security and sustainability, while maintaining stability of critical services. Managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with a broad range of stakeholders, including business, technical and external parties, within agreed timeframes, given differing expectations, priorities and levels of technical understanding. Navigating legacy systems and technical debt while designing future ‑ state solutions that support long ‑ term strategic objectives. Ensuring solutions are designed with operational readiness and change adoption in mind, particularly where impacts span multiple business units or services.
