Job Description

Duties Responsibilities Implement and monitor laboratory safety and chemical inventory compliance programs to support adherence with university policies and applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations within School of Chemical Sciences (SCS) facilities. Provide guidance on laboratory safety procedures, inventory management practices, and compliance requirements. Coordinate operational aspects of the Chem Tracking system for SCS laboratories, including maintaining chemical inventory records, supporting compliance documentation, and assisting with data management procedures related to regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate laboratory safety and chemical inventory activities including assisting with safety training programs, inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and monitoring laboratory equipment and materials for compliance with safety standards. Compile and maintain documentation, records, and data related to laboratory safety programs, chemical inventory systems, inspections, and compliance monitoring activities. Prepare reports and summaries for departments and management as required. Liaison with campus units including the Division of Research Safety, Safety and Compliance offices, asset management, and relevant committees to support implementation of safety and environmental compliance programs. Develop and provide training materials and guidance for students, faculty, staff, and scholars related to safety programs, chemical inventory processes, and database systems used to support compliance efforts within SCS. Perform other related duties as assigned in support of School of Chemical Sciences operations.
