Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Provide strong leadership, program management, guidance, and direction to school counselors in the development and implementation of the campus comprehensive school counseling program.
Work with school faculty and staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling throughout the district as needed.
Act as the coordinator of the campus counseling staff and liaison between the campus and central administration.
Counsel students to fully develop academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special population students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in Counseling
Valid Texas school counseling certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of school counseling procedures, social/emotional learning, student academic and career development.
Other Skills and Abilities Required:
Demonstrate integrity and ethics
Display proficient levels of technology applications
Organize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities and deadlines
Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
Maintain customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders
Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met
Maintain positive and professional communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years high school counseling experience
Salary: AP PG5/12 months
