Job Description

Schedule/Hours:

Seasonal; 6/8/2026 – 8/7/2026

Part-time; 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Monday – Tuesday; Wednesday

 

This position is responsible for:

Under the general supervision of the Corps Officer, the Seasonal Support Worker is responsible for assisting in the development, promotion, and implementation of after school programs for the Corps including youth club programs; summer/day camp; recommends creative and innovative ideas for program development; assists in overseeing and running activities and programs of the after-school youth club. The incumbent will help parents get the information and assistance they need to support their children at home and to ensure their children's success in summer/day camp.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the liaison between parents, teachers, and corps personnel. Coordinates parenting sessions and activities. Communicates issues of interest to parents through various formats. Provides information to families regarding public and private resources available.
  • Answers telephone in a courteous and tactful manner; schedules donation pick-ups; provides accurate and complete information regarding the operations and/or services; attempts to resolve complaints in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner.
  • Perform routine typing of standard departmental documents, cards, and labels with little or no deviation from established methods and procedures; proof-reads documents for accuracy and completeness before completing one project and going on to another project.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language. Ability to perform route mathematical calculations. Ability to lift and operate hand trucks, and dollies. Ability to lift boxes of materials, donations. Ability to load, unload, secure and protect goods. Ability to set up and break down materials at events. Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner. Work is generally performed in a normal temperature-controlled office environment. During the distribution of donations there may be physical discomforts associated with temperature, noise, dust, and dirt. The position involves moving about the Arlington Corps location and surrounding local area where there are fluctuations in temperature due to cold weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. AND
  • Two years general office and/or data entry experience in a customer service setting. OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
