Schedule/Hours:

Seasonal; 6/24/2026 – 7/31/2026

Full-time; 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Monday – Friday

 

This position is responsible for:

Assist in the development, promotion, and implementation of after school programs for the Corps including youth club programs; summer/day camp; recommends creative and innovative ideas for program development; assists in overseeing and running activities and programs of the after-school youth club.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and execution of innovative and enjoyable programs for the youth participating in the club. Assists Corps Officer in finding program aids that will help plan after school activities, day camps and programs.
  • Maintains awareness of new materials in the area of after school programming/youth programming; maintains an inventory of office supplies and resources in order to ensure the program runs smoothly.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and execution of monthly social activities for teens and young adult age groups. Provides transportation as needed.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Knowledge of the Salvation Army mission and ministry. Knowledge of principles and practices of child development, educational support, and family relations. Ability to recruit, lead, motivate volunteers to teach education classes/programs. Ability to serve as a resource for the development of the after-school education and character-building program. Ability to establish and nurture professional relationships with adults and children of all ages and their families. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate English. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone and computer. Duties are usually performed standing or moving about the classrooms, gymnasium, on field trips and are subject to brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work may involve driving a vehicle on occasion to transport passengers to and from youth activities and programs.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. AND
  • Experience in an elementary or middle school setting preferred. AND
  • Two years’ experience working with youth, preferably in an afterschool or educational setting, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.

Applicant must meet TSA Safe from Harm requirements.
