Job Summary

 

Preschool Teacher (2025–2026 School Year)

St. Gerard Majella School is seeking a joyful, faith‑filled Preschool Teacher who feels called to serve in our vibrant Catholic community for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, committed to nurturing young learners, and eager to create a warm, developmentally appropriate environment for 4‑year‑old children.

 

Position Overview

The Preschool Teacher will design and implement a rich learning experience that supports the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth of young children. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, a love for working with preschool‑age students, and a dedication to modeling and integrating Catholic values throughout the school day.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, joyful, and faith‑centered classroom environment.
  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that foster curiosity, independence, and foundational academic skills.
  • Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance and relationship‑building.
  • Integrate prayer, Catholic teachings, and Christian character formation into daily routines.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school expectations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive and mission‑aligned preschool program.
  • Maintain accurate records, assessments, and documentation as required.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school community events.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.

 

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic committed to the mission and teachings of the Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education (required).
  • Experience working with preschool‑age children preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom‑management skills.
  • A joyful spirit, a nurturing disposition, and a genuine love for young learners.
  • Ability to create a structured yet playful learning environment that supports whole‑child development.
