About the team and the role:
The Internal Technology & Shared Services (ITSS) team powers how eBay works from the inside out. We design and deliver the collaboration tools and platforms that enable eBay employees around the world to communicate, share knowledge, and operate efficiently every day.
As the Software Product Owner for Internal Collaboration Tools, you will own a portfolio of internal products that are critical to how teams work across eBay. You will partner closely with business collaborators and engineering to build product strategy, define roadmaps, and guide solutions from discovery through delivery and ongoing optimization. This role sits at the intersection of business needs and technology, with high visibility across functions and a direct impact on employee productivity and experience.
What you will accomplish:
Lead the strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of internal collaboration tools, ensuring they align with eBay’s business priorities and measurably improve employee productivity and engagement.
Translate complex, cross-functional business needs into clear, actionable product requirements, user stories, and use cases that enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
Drive an outcome-focused backlog, making data-informed prioritization decisions that balance collaborator needs, technical constraints, and long-term platform health.
Partner with engineering, program, and operations teams to deliver reliable releases, enhancements, and maintenance, improving system stability and reducing support issues over time.
Champion adoption of the tools you own by coordinating training, onboarding, documentation, and proactive communication via channels such as Slack and support ticketing systems, using usage metrics and feedback to iterate.
Monitor and report on product performance, user engagement, and efficiency gains, using insights and technology-based opportunities to continuously optimize workflows and automate routine processes.
What you will bring:
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a software environment, with a strong grasp of Agile methodologies and product ownership practices.
Proven success managing internal or enterprise tools and platforms, including experience working closely with engineering teams and operations to support live products and handle production issues.
Ability to translate business problems into technical requirements and user stories, while effectively managing collaborators, expectations, and competing priorities in a large, cross-functional organization.
Hands-on experience with collaboration and work-tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, and ticketing systems, plus familiarity with data analysis and reporting to inform decisions.
Experience using AI tools and agents to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency across internal platforms.
A growth mindset with strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, and (preferred) a Certified Product Owner credential (CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent) or comparable experience in enterprise IT or platform teams.
