We are seeking an experienced communications professional to join GE HealthCare’s Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business. PDx is a global leader in contrast media and molecular imaging agents, with 5,000+ employees serving customers in 130 countries and supporting four patient procedures every second.

The Senior Communications Manager, PDx East Asia, is a region wide role with primary accountability for Japan and broader responsibility across East Asia, including China, Korea, and Australia/New Zealand—one of PDx’s fastest growing and most strategically important regions. Based in Tokyo, the role sits within the Global PDx Communications team and serves as the lead communications partner for the PDx East Asia leadership team, with particular focus on Japan as a cornerstone market.

This position operates at the intersection of global strategy and local market realities, shaping communications that are strategically aligned, culturally precise, and execution focused, supporting business priorities across Contrast Media and Radiopharma while ensuring strong alignment between global PDx narratives and regional needs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications Partnership

  • Serve as the primary communications advisor to PDx East Asia leadership, with a strong focus on Japan, aligning communications with growth, transformation, and operational priorities.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the PDx East Asia General Manager on leadership visibility, change communications, and employee engagement across the region.
  • Lead communications for the integration of a recently acquired Japanese company, supporting cultural alignment, leadership communication, and employee engagement during a critical period of change, partnering with internal team
  • Translate global PDx strategy and narratives into effective regional and country‑level communications, balancing consistency with local relevance across Japan, China, Korea, and ANZ.

Internal Communications

  • Lead internal communications for PDx East Asia, with particular emphasis on Japan, including leadership messages, business updates, and change communications.
  • Plan and support regional and country‑level town halls, leadership calls, and employee forums.
  • Own internal communication channels and content cadence, ensuring clarity, relevance, and engagement across diverse audiences.

External & Customer Communications

  • Lead external and customer communications in partnership with global and country teams, operating in a highly regulated and reputation‑sensitive environment.
  • Support business, organizational, and customer‑facing announcements across the region, with heightened focus on Japan.
  • Ensure all communications comply with local regulatory, legal, and cultural requirements.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Medical, and Legal teams across Japan and the wider region.
  • Act as a strong connector between Global PDx Communications and regional and country teams, enabling effective two‑way information flow.
  • Coordinate with country communicators and external agency partners as required.

Content Development & Localization

  • Develop high‑quality communications materials, including leadership messages, announcements, and briefing documents, for both Japan and regional audiences.
  • Ensure communications are culturally precise and context‑aware for Japan, while maintaining alignment with global PDx positioning.
  • Uphold high editorial standards and consistency with GE HealthCare and PDx brand guidelines.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in corporate, internal, or business communications within a matrixed, international organization.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders, with credibility operating in Japan and across multi‑country organizations.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, regulated industries, or listed companies welcomed.

Language Skills

  • Fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken) – mandatory.
  • Mandarin Chinese is an additional advantage

Core Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong strategic judgment and the ability to translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and executive‑level communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Cultural fluency and confidence operating across Japan and broader East Asia markets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and resilience in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills; video editing and graphics experience a plus.
  • Results‑driven, collaborative, and proactive, with the ability to plan and execute to timeline.
