As an Assistant Manager, you will: • Assist the manager with all aspects of the operations of a State Liquor Store. • Delegate work assignments. • Contribute to the department's service-focused mission by providing superior customer service. • Maintain employee leave and payroll records. • Receive and fill orders for licensees. • Perform cashiering duties. Other Responsibilities • Assists the store manager with delegating work assignments, monitoring/reviewing quality of work, scheduling staff, providing technical assistance or training, and/or providing input on performance appraisal, hiring and discipline. • Maintains account receivables, processes and accounts for payments and ensures accuracy of receipts and deposits. • Conducts regular and/or spot check inventories of merchandise, supplies, or equipment. • Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available. Orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies. • Verifies that cash intake matches sales and inventory activity. • Sets up and closes cash registers and prepares deposits. • Processes transactions at a cash register, gives correct change and closes till at end of shift. • Assists customers in finding products, making selections and purchasing items. • Resolves potential confrontational issues appropriately when dealing with intoxicated individuals, shoplifters, etc. Helps ensure staff is trained to prohibit sales to minors.
