Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented environmental professional to join our team as an Advisor, Environment. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that construction activities are delivered in full environmental compliance, aligning with permits, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in dynamic, site-based environments and is passionate about driving responsible, sustainable outcomes in complex industrial projects.

Your Impact

As an Advisor, Environment, you will directly contribute to the safe and responsible execution of construction activities by identifying environmental risks early, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the project. Your work will enable operational teams to meet environmental commitments while maintaining high performance, ultimately protecting the environment and supporting long-term project success.

 

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental permits, approvals, and commitments

• Identify environmental risks early and work with teams to implement effective mitigation measures

• Support and implement Environmental Management Plans and site procedures

• Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis

• Prepare and review environmental reports, regulatory submissions, and performance dashboards

• Track environmental performance and drive corrective actions where needed

• Maintain accurate, well-organized environmental data, records, and documentation

• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams to integrate environmental practices into daily operations

• Advise operational and project teams on environmental requirements, risks, and best practices

What Makes You Successful in This Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field

• Experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, or reporting—ideally within mining, construction, or industrial projects

• Understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and risk management practices

• Experience conducting inspections, audits, and supporting incident investigations

• Strong data management and documentation skills with high attention to detail

• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

• Effective communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills

You anticipate risks and act before they become issues

• You stay organized and manage competing priorities effectively

• You build strong working relationships across teams and disciplines

• You are comfortable working on-site and engaging directly with operations

• You are driven by purpose and committed to environmental responsibility and safety

This is a site-based role within a dynamic construction environment, requiring close collaboration with project, operational, and environmental teams. The role involves regular interaction with contractors and stakeholders, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance.

 The expected salary range for this role is CA$85,400 - 113,900 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
