Position: 8th Grade Boys Volleyball Head Coach Posting # 4009

Reports To: Athletic Director and Varsity Volleyball Coach
Beginning: 8/17/26 � 10/14/26
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of volleyball coaching preferred
- CPR/AED, CAP Certified Concussion Protocol
- Must be available after school and possibly some Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Attends athletic department meetings when scheduled.
- Submits an annual inventory of athletic uniforms and equipment that is used by his/her team.
- Maintains professional competency by attending clinics.
- Keeps the Athletic Director informed of any or all problems, before, during, or after all sporting events.
- Encourages athletes to excel in academic work.
- Submits an End of the Season Checklist in a timely manner.
- Issues, cleans, stores, cares and returns all athletic equipment.
- Oversees the safety conditions of the area when team members are practicing.
- Enforces disciplined behavior, code of fair play, and establishes standards. Reports all incidents to the Athletic Director.
- Establishes an effective relationship with players, parents, and administrators.
- Attends practices, games, and meetings punctually.
- Uses professional conduct, language, and decorum with players, opponents, officials, and fans.
- Works with the athletic director to maintain player eligibility information.
- Teaches individual participants in the skills necessary for the highest possible achievement in the sport involved.
- Each practice session is planned out ahead of time.
- Submits necessary rosters, physical forms, eligibility list forms, and training rule forms signed by the parents.
- Is a positive role model.
- Adheres to those rules and regulations as detailed by the MHSAA and Board of Education policies and regulations.
- Maintains team attendance records and medical emergency cards.
- Works to promote increased participation to improve methods, techniques, strength and endurance both in and out of season.
- Submits written criteria for "cutting" athletes at tryouts.
- Displays self-control and maintains a positive profile with officials.
- Provides supervision of locker room and training room.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
