Job Summary The Enterprise Technology Planning (ETP) Manager leads and guides the ETP staff and matrixed teams to ensure the successful completion of projects and initiatives. This position provides strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise technology planning utilizing the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and best practices. This role leads to the organizing and delivery of a portfolio of strategic Information Technology projects and programs aligned with institutional priorities and operational goals. Additionally, the position tracks success through project and portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, data driven decision making, and change management while ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business value, improve institutional effectiveness, and support the university’s mission. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Leads and manages the Enterprise Technology Projects team, including direct supervision and development of staff by providing mentoring, coaching, and professional development to team members and matrixed project resources. Establishes a high-performing and collaborative project delivery culture that works to promote best practices in project management and process improvement. Manages a portfolio of enterprise technology projects and programs to ensure alignment with institutional strategy and priorities. Partners with Information Technology and business leadership to prioritize initiatives, optimize resource allocation, and balance competing demands. Ensures that the implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives, project schedules, risk mitigation, communication and resource plans, project budgets, and related project management documentation. Manages all phases of project delivery, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Ensures development and maintenance of comprehensive project artifacts. Ensures project activities progress according to scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives, implementing corrective actions as needed. Reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress toward specified project objectives. Serves as a liaison between Information Technology, academic and administrative departments, and external partners. Communicates project status, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders through clear and effective reporting. Leads organizational change management efforts and coaches others on process improvement initiatives and methodology to continuously improve the project management process. Develops and manages project budgets, ensuring appropriate use of resources and alignment with funding allocations. Coordinates with procurement and manages vendor relationships, contracts, and external service providers. Monitors financial performance and provides reporting to leadership and stakeholders. Implements contingency plans to address project challenges, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), measures success against defined objectives, and evaluates project outcomes. Conducts post project reviews and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. Performs other duties as assigned.
