Key responsibilities
The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Building simulation models of highly complex mechanical systems using Multibody Dynamics and Finite Element simulation tools.
- Creating models of different complexity (from analytical to full 3D FEM simulations) for real-world actuation systems, considering their transient behavior and control.
- Designing and testing new prototypes in our lab. Set up of advanced test rigs with the cooperation of the prototyping team, defining the testing concept, and evaluating/interpreting measurement results.
- Applying your own ideas to optimize actual hardware solutions and/or simulation processes used in the design.
- Collaborating with our team members and learning about new technological trends and future control and protection devices.
- Documenting and presenting scientific results in a professional environment at ABB.
Qualifications for the role
- Studying for a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar field
- Good knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields: Applied Mechanics, Mechatronics, Multibody Dynamics Simulation, Finite Element Analysis and Design, Prototyping and Testing of Mechatronic/Mechanical Systems
- Experience in at least one of the following software packages: ANSYS, Adams, MATLAB/Simulink, SolidWorks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical results clearly in both written and spoken English
