Wake County’s Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) team is dedicated to ending hunger, improving health, and supporting families in accessing nutritious food. We’re excited to announce an opportunity to join our mission-driven team as an Eligibility Caseworker I. In this role, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for individuals and families seeking support, determining their eligibility for Food Nutrition Services benefits through compassionate and thorough assessment. What You’ll Do: • Conduct interviews by phone or in person to gather essential household information • Determine initial or ongoing eligibility for FNS benefits • Request, review, and evaluate documentation in accordance with program policy • Enter and maintain accurate case data in our system • Provide referrals to community resources and other support services • Manage caseload efficiently using a document management system • Meet established performance standards for accuracy, timeliness, and quality • Collaborate with and support fellow case managers when needed • Ensure clear, timely documentation and follow-up on all assigned work Who Thrives in This Role: Someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, organized, and passionate about serving their community.
