Travel Risk Coordinator – Complex Environments, Travel Risk Management

Job Description

Grounded in Duty of Care standards and best practice, the Travel Risk Coordinator - Complex Environments Program (CEP) enables safe business travel, builds a positive security culture, and delivers proactive risk mitigation solutions for Amazonians exposed to complex environment risks.

The coordinator keeps CEP's key initiative areas running by managing training logistics, vendor operations, documentation, incident response support and deliverable tracking. Working across regions and business lines, the Coordinator serves as the connective tissue between CEP, TRM regional teams, internal partners and external vendors.

The right candidate will be calm under pressure, empathetic with employees and stakeholders in stressful situations, and comfortable making high-impact decisions independently. This is a role for someone who can balance operational assistance needs and contribute to global strategic projects.


Key job responsibilities
Support the Complex Environments Program manager

Maintain and update program documentation including SOPs, guidelines, playbooks, trackers, and internal wikis

Track deliverables, timelines, and action items; flag risks or delays to Travel Risk Managers

Compile data and draft inputs for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), OKRs, and KPI reporting

Coordinate cross-functional engagement with TRM regional teams, Amazon Security, Amazon Travel & Events, and key business units

Manage end-to-end logistics for Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) courses

Coordinate e-learning module development timelines and liaise with content vendors

Coordinate kidnapping/extortion awareness training sessions and personal security briefings

Provide operational support during high-impact personnel security incidents


A day in the life
Coordinate logistics and documentation during personnel medical and security incidents

Maintain incident response contact lists and training materials

Process secure ground transport vendor onboarding, payments, and regional booking requests

Review airline safety reports and monitor risk rating changes

Update evacuation, political detention, and other TRM guidelines


About the team
The Travel Risk Management team mitigates health, safety, and security risks to Amazon’s business travelers and international assignees across . The Complex Environments Program is a critical capability within TRM, focused on the highest-risk scenarios. This coordinator role is essential to keeping the program operationally sound and scalable as Amazon’s global footprint grows.

- Experience in Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management or a related field that involves conducting threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Experience experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience managing real-time incidents (medical, security, or crisis) across multiple time zones

- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- 2+ years experience in work related to operations in high security risk and complex environments
- Familiarity with the ISO 31030 Travel Risk Management Standard or similar Duty of Care frameworks
- Comfort with AI-enabled tools and automation platforms; willingness to adopt emerging technology
